Cyborg
I had inspiration for this sculpture after watching Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. And this sculpture was done without any base reference—not coloring or sculpting, completely from my imagination, which is uncommon. Usually, I would have some references.
In this sculpture, pretty early I decided I want to go all in on all "cool things", leaving out realism or scenery—just shove in as many cool things as I can think of.
A regular cyborg wasn't enough, of course—so, four arms. But going with four arms got me thinking about anatomy, and I saw two main schools: two chest muscles versus four. In my opinion, you must have a separate pair of chest muscles for it—the same contraction as you need with two hands. I didn't go further than the initial process on it, but it was a fun train of thought to track down.
And going all out—a cyborg with four arms isn't enough. The initial idea was to have him striking a cliché action pose, with his leg coolly resting on a huge monster head he had just slain, with blood dripping from the head and his weapons as well. Even though I thought of showing only about a fourth of the creature's head, I'm not capable of only sculpting a fourth—so the effort would still be for one giant monster head.
Sadly, at that point I was pretty tired, so I went with an easier option: a Dune style monster worm, which is much faster to sculpt than an entire detailed head at that scale. I still considered adding gruesome blood to his weapons and body, but because I made the Dune worm alive, it would definitely make no sense to have blood all over him. So, I finished it as is.
I like the final result. It has many fine, nice details, and I think it's cool, although the scene isn't coherent enough.
